Need Some Suggestions on What to Share?

Reflections:

HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO WRITE ABOUT WHEN YOU SHARE IN THE SHARE GALLERY..

Please keep it SIMPLE or SHARE A LOT... These are just a list of suggestions.

Who: The Participants

  • Describe the individuals who made up your Feather Council.

  • Were there just a few? Were there many?

  • Were they Family Members, Classmates, or Community Members?

  • Were they from different backgrounds and experiences that enrich the circle?

  • Were the participants excited or nervous, or both? Was this a new activity for them?

What:

  • How did the Circle leader/facilitator/guide welcome everyone? How did they close the circle?

  • What was your topic to share and discuss?

  • Did you use the World Values Day suggested theme of "Values for the Future?" or did you use another suggested theme or one of your own?

  • How did it expand, and what did you learn from all that was shared?

Where: The Space

  • Describe the physical or virtual space where gatherings occur.

  • Was it an Outdoor Setting: The beauty of nature as a backdrop for connection?

  • Was it an Online Platform utilizing technology to connect those far and wide?

  • Was it held somewhere within a Community Setting, a school, or a meeting place?

  • Was there accessibility and space for everyone to join if they wished?

  • When: The Timing

  • Was this a planned and organized gathering, or was it more spontaneous and organic, utilizing the feather council format as a means for people to share their views and feelings?

  • Would you want to repeat this again in the future? And, what might you expand on or do differently next time? Could this be a recurring event, a way to celebrate milestones or changes together, or foster deeper connections among friends, coworkers, classmates, or family members?

How: The Process

  • Was there an opportunity to reflect afterwards, either in silence or as a group?

  • Was there an emphasis on respect and listening?

  • Was everyone's voice encouraged and honored? How did you know?

Personal Learnings from the Gatherings: Do you believe the individuals in the circle gained insight from their participation in the Feather Council? Could you speak on any of the following?

  • Empathy: Learning to understand diverse perspectives and experiences.

  • Community Building: The significance of forming bonds with one another.

  • Self-Discovery: Recognizing personal growth through shared moments.

  • Emotional Experiences - Is there anything to share about the emotional weight of participating in the gathering? Could you speak about any of the following?

  • Joy: Celebrating achievements and milestones as a community.

  • Vulnerability: The courage it takes to share deeply personal stories.

  • Healing: Experiencing catharsis through the act of sharing.

Suggestions for Improvement

  • Explore potential changes to enhance future gatherings.

  • Inclusivity: Ensuring every voice is heard, especially quieter members.

  • Different Formats: Introducing online gathering with a larger group of individuals from long distant locations?

  • Feedback: Creating a safe space where constructive feedback is welcomed.

Conclusion

  • How can we better encourage participants to join our circle in the future by providing a platform for them to share their values, beliefs, stories, and experiences?

  • How can we effectively convey the idea that sharing fosters peace and understanding?
