Lay Down the Feather
In a time when the world feels divided and rushed, there is wisdom in slowing down, sitting together, and listening deeply. Inspired by the ancient practice of laying down the feather, we invite you to join us to reflect, share, and connect through values that unite us all. This global initiative was created for the 2025 World Values Day which was celebrated October 16th. We now continue to spread the mission to universities, schools, businesses and communities as a way to share our commonalties and mend the divide we are all experiencing.

What It Means to
“Lay Down the Feather”
JOIN US..
Hold a feather council of your own.
Across many cultures, feathers represent peace, truth, and respect for all voices.
To lay down the feather is to choose listening
over argument, and unity over division.
This practice reminds us that every person’s words carry weight and that healing begins with listening.
Gather some people together and have your
own discussion circle
that is peaceful and respectful, no matter what your differences or points of view.
LET'S COME TOGETHER TO SHARE, TALK, LISTEN, RESPECT, AND LEARN.
Global Launch Date: October 16, 2025 and will be open for sharing your Feather Council stories, photos, and videos until March 1, 2026 via submission to our Virtual Feather Council Gallery.
